Andros Georgiou
Andros Georgiou, the cousin and former collaborator of late pop star, George Michael has broken his silence following Michael’s December 25th death.
Andros Georgiou is certain that his beloved cousin died accidentally after taking a cocktail of drugs and alcohol.
Andros, described by media as a music producer, said the family needs answers to move on. He says George Michael spent three years in rehab and tried to lead a normal life when he accidently took too much of something, ultimately putting the blame on those ‘most close to the 53-year-old crooner.’
George Michael died at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on Christmas Day leaving a string of questions because his death doesn’t make sense according to Andros.
Mr Georgiou broke his silence in a Facebook post, aiming a number of questions at Michael’s boyfriend Fadi Fawaz.
However, in a recent interview for the Victoria Derbyshire show, he limited himself to say
‘Who put him back on hard drugs? Because he was not on them.
Andros vows to get to the bottom saying, ‘I just want to get to the truth about what happened: what was in his blood at the time, who gave it to him, why he had it again.
Andros Georgiou, had not spoken to the late star for 12 years when he died but insisted this was not an act of suicide.
During the Wham! years, Andros and Michael were very close. He even toured the world with his cousin. Andros said he had repeatedly begged Michael to get help because he feared his drug addictions would eventually kill him.
A post-mortem examination into the singer’s death was inconclusive. Further toxicology tests have been ordered.
According to his LinkedIn, Andros is a Consultant at publicimagesltd.com.
Andros and Michael are actually not related. The two were just so close growing up that referred to each other as cousins. Their fathers’ friendship eventually led to Andros and George becoming mates as well.
As George became an international pop sensation, first as one-half of Wham! and then as a solo star, Andros was right there with him. After establishing Hardback Records in 1986, Andros served as the managing director of Aegean Records, the record label started by George in the mid-’90s, according to his LinkedIn page. Andros helped Aegean become one of the early adopters of digital music distribution before anyone even heard of iTunes or Spotify.
According to online sources they stopped talking after George was arrested in 1998 for allegedly engaging in a lewd act in a public restroom in Will Rogers Park in Beverly Hills.
