Is Selena Gomez’s mother pregnant? She has reportedly confirmed the news in a telling picture she posted on Twitter in which she was holding her mom’s baby bump. Selena Gomez’s mother is Amanda “Mandy” Teefey. She had recently suffered a miscarriage in 2011.
Mandy Teefey was born Amanda Dawn Cornett, on April 16, 1976, in Dallas, Texas. She was adopted by Debbie Jean Gibson and David Michael Cornett, and was their only child. Mandy graduated from High School South Grand Prairie High School.
Teefey is a producer, director, and former theater actress since an early age. She appeared at local theater plays, which inspired her daughter Selena to seek opportunities as a child actress.
At age 15 she met her first husband, Ricardo Joel Gomez, and gave birth to Selena at age 16 on July 22, 1992, in Prairie Texas. Mandy and Ricardo split up in 1997 when Selena was only 5.
Mandy became Mandy Teefey on May 18, 2006, when she married her longtime companion, Brian Teefey from Detroit. That same year, Mandy funded her own production company “July Moon Productions” where her husband serves as vice-president.
On November 25th, 2011, Mandy’s famous daughter went to her Twitter account where she said that Mandy and Brian were having a baby. Sadly, on December 19th, it was reported that Mandy suffered a miscarriage. Selena cancelled her shows and events to be with her mother. Reportedly, Mandy is once again expecting a child.
Some of Mandy’s work includes her role as special makeup effects artist in the 2003 film Pale Blue Moo, the next year Teefey appeared as assistant director and unit production manager in Blue October: Argue With A Tree, and in 2006 she worked as a coordinator on animated projects such as Ant Bully.
Mandy is also the manager of his daughter, Selena.
Teefey’s favorite song from her daughter is “When The Sun Goes Down”, the 11th track of “Middle Of Nowhere”.
