Meet Tereza Kacerova; she could have been the current girlfriend of Swedish DJ Avicii at the time of his sudden death at the age of 28, on April 20, 2018, in Muscat, Oman.
Avicii previously dated Emily Ferguson and Racquel Bettencourt; most recently he had been spending time with Tereza Kacerova, a single mother, and model who posted a photo of her son and Avicii decorating a Christmass Tree with the caption “My manz.”

In addition to modeling, Tereza appeared as Kylie on HBO’s TV. Series Ballers, alongside The Rock in 2015; the following years, she made a cameo in Peter Berg’s film Patriots Day; this year, she will play Monique in The Madness Within, starring Lily Tomlin.
Kacerova also appeared in the 2014 short film Nowhere and played Adam Levine’s love interest in Maroon 5’s music video for their song Maps.

Before Avicii and Trent, it was rumored Tereza and actor Bradley Cooper were dating, but it all turned out to be a rumor.
After learning of his death, she penned a heartfelt letter expressing her disbelief and sorrow. “Dear Tim, I’ve spent the last few days hoping to wake up and find out this is just a cruel joke or a terrible mistake. It’s starting to sink in that I will never see you again,” Kačerová wrote.
She recounted her initial reactions, saying, “In the first few days, I bombarded your friends with questions (are they SURE IT’S REAL?!), demanding evidence, and searching online for articles that might prove it was all wrong. Each time I came across ‘RIP’ and ‘Avicii’ together or saw an end date next to your name, I felt the shock wash over me again.”
Kačerová expressed her pain upon seeing Avicii’s Wikipedia page change from “is” to “was,” stating, “I cried when I saw that it said you died on April 20, 2018. It didn’t make sense; you were too young and too wonderful for that to be your legacy.”
She shared more photos of him and explained why they kept their relationship private, emphasizing that she wanted it to be theirs alone. “I thought if I ever shared it publicly, it would be when I was expecting our child,” she reflected, lamenting how things turned out differently than planned.

Avicii was in a relationship with model Natasha Racquel from 2013 until 2016. Their relationship had its ups and downs, and Racquel revealed during an appearance on the Sofia with F podcast that she suffered a miscarriage in 2016, which ultimately led to their breakup.
Following Avicii’s death, she also paid tribute to him on social media. “My heart is shattered,” she wrote on Instagram. “Tim, it feels like just yesterday we were inseparable, sharing laughter until dawn. We faced the world together. Despite everything we went through, I wanted nothing more than for you to be happy and healthy. The universe had other plans for us.”
Racquel continued with deep emotion, “I know how hard you fought and tried. Thank you for showing me what true love is.” She cherished their bond, stating it would forever remain in her heart. “It was far too soon for you; you were so talented and special. You were a huge part of my life, and I will always treasure our moments together. I never stopped loving you. It brings me comfort knowing your music impacted billions and that your spirit will live on in our hearts.”

Avicii’s relationship with Emily Goldberg lasted from 2011 to 2013. Upon hearing of his death, she shared a tribute on Instagram featuring lyrics from one of his songs: “‘Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love.’ Those words were from a song Tim wrote for me,” she noted, expressing her regret at not being able to fulfill them.
Goldberg remembered Avicii as her closest friend during their two years together and expressed her sorrow at never seeing him again. “I’m still processing everything; thank you for your kind messages,” she added poignantly.
Tragically, Emily Goldberg passed away in May 2024 due to a pulmonary embolism after battling cancer from 2022 to 2023. She had previously celebrated being cancer-free before her untimely death.
