Madonna Badger, the Conn. woman who lost her three daughters and parents in Christmas day fire in 2011, has taken another step in rebuilding her life. The New York Daily News reports. She was maried to Matthew Badger the father of her girls but had separated two years earlier before that tragic day.
In a piece Badger, the 49-year-old, wrote for Vogue titled “The Long Road Back,” she reveals she’s engaged to longtime friend William Duke, who was by her bedside when she was hospitalized after the tragic blaze.
Madonna started her career at Esquire and Madame Figaro in Paris, before launching the first issue of Allure. She joined Calvin Klein in 1990, where she created the Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss campaigns, and launched CK One. Madonna founded the agency in 1994 and was soon working with clients such as Vera Wang, Chanel and Shiseido.
The Chief creative officer at Badger and Winters, first met Duke when she dated one of his brothers years ago, at their grandparents’ house in East Hampton.
“Bill and I had stayed friends, and when I started looking for an apartment in New York in March, I called him— he’s a real estate broker — and we looked at houses for several weeks,’’ she wrote in Vogue. “One day he asked me out and I said yes. Recently he asked me to marry him, and I said yes to that, too. We’re getting married next September; more immediately, we’re volunteering together this Christmas to help kids in need.”
According to the 5-page publication Bill has two other brothers John Duke and Dougie Douglass. Bill grew up in Manhattan and moved to Brooklyn in 2002. The realtor has a strong knowledge of many Manhattan and Brooklyn neighborhoods.

William is a father of at least two children, daughters Emily Daria and Isabel Foxen Duke. Accordint to his Facebook, the couple got engaged in May.
Bill’s fiancé also reveals, after two years of the death of her daughters and parents she has finally found a place to burry the ashes of her daughters.
