Elizabeth Lizzy Luebke froze to death outside a Milwaukee home

Elizabeth Lizzy Luebke was found frozen  in a sidewalk outside a home at the 800 block of E. Keefe Ave. Milwaukee  in -6F temperatures with a windchill factor of -27, wearing shorts, stockings, a tank-top and no coat. According to Milwaukee County medical examiners Ms. Luebke was apparently intoxicated.

21-year-old Elizabeth Luebke from Oshkosh, Milwaukee was also known as Lizzy Luebke and Lana Kane on FB  was working as an office assistant and safety trainer at Gene Griese & Sons Inc had been drinking with friends at a house party after a concert, when she became mad at a friend and stormed out of the house. This claim might or might not come as a surprise to  her family, she had been sober for over a month according to the message she posted on Facebook last December.

According to Lizzy’s mom, her daughter Elizabeth had been trying to stay sober ever since she was found unresponsive outside a bar and then hospitalized last October with a blood alcohol content of 0.40. Elizabeth Luebke’s mom Kathryn “Kathy” Griese Luebke she drove to the Milwaukee after someone called her and informed her of Lizzy’s disappearance. Mrs., Griese Luebke said she filled a missing person report, and prayed Lizzy would be found safe soon, but sadly that didn’t happen.

According to a witness Elizabeth “Lizzy” Luebke went to a concert and then to a party at a house near Keefe and Bremen in Milwaukee wearing shorts, stockings and a tank-top, the clothes were not ideal for the bitterly cold weather recorded as -5.8 degrees F with the wind chill recorded as -27.5 degrees F. Ms. Luebke was really drunk when she had an argument with a friend before storming out of the house.

“When she got here, she was really, really drunk and she got mad at her other friend and she stormed out,”

A surveillance video in the area showed that aprox. 4:30 a.m Mr. Luebke collapsed in the snow. Her body was discovered at about 9:00 am on Sunday by a passer-by.
