What a twits of faith yawl! Mindy Crandell of Zephyrhills, Fla is a 34-year-old mother and wife who should have one the $590.5 million Powerball jackpot! But instead on May 18, she decided to be a decent, educated human being and let Gloria Mackenzie cut in line for Quick Pick lottery tickets at the checkout of the Publix in Zephyrhills, Fla. Mindy Napier Crandell is daughter of Marie Smith Flanders and grandchild of Frances Marcum Napier a retired business owner and Paul Napier. She’s been married for 13 years to hubby Jason.
Mindy a mom of two beautiful little girls; a four-year-old and an 10-year-old; were in line to purchase lottery tickets when her 10-year-old daughter Mallory said:
‘Mom, There’s a lady in front of us.’
Not making a big deal out of it, she let it slipped! The gracious 84-year-old woman who cut in line was Gloria Mackenzie. She appeared on TV as the soul winner of the $590.5 million jackpot with the ticket she bought cutting the line ahead of Mindy. According to Crandell herself she even had a second chance when the checker offered to let her reclaim her place in line but she simply said : Go ahead to Mackenzie! Thinking there was no chance anyone from “little Zephyrhills” could win!
What I love here is, she’s not second-guessing her choice and is actually very happy for Gloria, I mean what else can you do right! But being real anyone would be pulling their hair out for a second! She could have been the winner of the largest jackpot in the 21 year history of the game, making it the largest winning lottery ticket ever in American lottery history!
“It could have been us, but things happen. Sometimes it’s better to be patient than right. I knew we were teaching our daughter the right thing,”
Mindy’s daughter once again immediately recognize Gloria when she appeared on T.V to claim her prize! The winner who did not addressed the press did leave a statement in where she recognized and remembered Mindy’s politeness
“Another lottery player was kind enough to let me go ahead of her in line to purchase the winning quick pick ticket”
It seems Crandell has all the happiness she needs in life with her hubby and daughters she truly hopes the money, the $370.8 million before taxes to be exact blesses Gloria’s family.
