Who in their right mind would take in a man who is facing accusations of domestic violence against his estranged wife? We got the answer for ya! Meet Rashida Russel.
The pretty lady is the new love interest of choreographer, actor, and singer Columbus Short! Rashida better be prepare for the negative comments –and possible jokes –she’s about to face after what she said! According to TMZ and other media outlets she claims she is not, we repeat, NOT! afraid of her beau, she simply does not care about his violent past and even says he totally treats her like a queen!
Rashida met her now prince charming, a.k.a 32-year-old Columbus Short recently. Apparently they were both cooling it off in Barbados when they crossed paths and the romance began. The relationship has now developed to the point that she is taking care of her man by remembering all of his calendar appointments and appearances (can’t he afford an assistant? How is that treating her like a queen?!). In order to do that, Rashida who was living in New York City has made the move to Atlanta, where Short resides, apparently on his request.
Columbus, who was accused of threatening to kill estranged wife Tanee McCall seems no big deal for Russel who insists he is a prefect gentleman in their relationship. Columbus has definitely had a difficult year, its been negative headline after negative headline but should he be throwing himself in a deep and meaningful relationship or trying to deal with one problem at a time? This is probably not fair for smiley Rashida who is taking more of a motherly role than a girlfriend.
Short was arrested in February for alleged domestic violence assault against his estranged wife Tanee McCall. He was also was arrested in March for allegedly assaulting a man during a bar room brawl in Los Angeles. And yup, there was a third time back on July 5 in Texas for public intoxication after an alleged shouting match with a security guard and a scuffle with off-duty Dallas police officers. Not to mention his Scandal character was killed off!
There are no more details about Rashida for now, but hanging out with Columbus will surely get her more exposure sooner rather than later, so stay tuned in for updates!
