Sue Shifrin
Sue Shifrin is the former songwriter wife of Teenage heartthrob from the 70’s David Cassidy. The couple was married for over two decades before deciding to split in 2014.
Sue Shifrin was born on April 16, 1949 in Miami, Florida, USA. She is best known for becoming the third and last wife of the Partridge Family star.
The two tied the knot on March 30, 1991 –after having met in the late 80’s. Sue Shifrin and Cassidy even worked together on the 1989 song, “Prayin’ 4 a Miracle.”
At the time, Sue had been previously married and Cassidy had been twice divorced. Cassidy was previously married to Kay Lenz from 1977-1983 and Meryl Tanz from 1984-1986. He is also the father of actress Katie Cassidy, whose mother is Sherry Williams Benedon.
In 1991, Sue Shifrin gave birth to the couple’s only child, son Beau Cassidy.
A rep for Cassidy announced the couple separated in August 2013. Sue filed for divorce after 23-years of marriage, in early 2014 and the divorce was finalized in May 2016. Earlier this year, Sue’s famous ex-husband announced his battle with dementia and most recently was admitted to the hospital and was placed into a medically-induced coma after suffering from organ failure.
According to a profile, 67-year-old Sue Shifrin, who still goes by Sue Cassidy, currently works as an executive national vice president and independent consultant for Arbonne. On social media the lovely Mrs. Cassidy also describes herself as a songwriter and Instrument rated pilot.
As a songwriter, Sue has co-written songs performed by Tina Turner, Heart, Smokey Robinson and Al Jarreau. She co-wrote the song “She’s Trouble,” which Michael Jackson recorded during the Thriller sessions.
Sue is also the co-author of The Lifeboard: Follow Your Vision – a program written with Linda Blum Huntington and Eva Adrienne Anderson. The goal of the program is to help people realize their dreams.
