Abigail ” Abby” Lee Kemp was once an aspiring model and a former lingerie football player for the Atlanta Steam, she had for sure the future ahead of her, a way different future awaits her behind bars after she was caught stealing over $4M in jewelry; she was at first dubbed the Diamond Diva and one of the suspects in a string of jewelry stores in several states.

Abigail ” Abby” Lee Kemp, 24, faces charges of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by threats or violence  and 20 years in jail if found guilty of the robberies in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia that started in last April. Abby Lee Kemp was arrested on Friday in Smyra, Georgia after police received tip-off from the public who watched her from the CCTV footage of the robberies, besides been dubbed the Diamond Diva Abby Kemp was known as the shapely stickup artist” and the “jogger jewelry thief.

‘Within hours of issuing a press release this week requesting assistance in identifying the suspects, the FBI Jacksonville Division began to receive numerous credible leads from the public.’ 

Some citizens further advised that during recent contacts with Kemp, she was wearing expensive jewelry that some of the callers believe she cannot afford,” the agent’s sworn statement said. “Some citizens also advised that Kemp possesses a black handgun and recently had her car painted black.”

But it was her Kemp’s cell phone that leads to her arrest, according to New York Daily News.

Cell tower data around the time of three of the robberies displayed the same northern Georgia cell phone number (404) 630-2685, Kemp’s number, near the scenes of the crimes, according to the federal complaint against Kemp. Investigators believe she drove a relative’s Honda Civic that had been changed from maroon to black with the license plate number PFD5783. The feds heard from the public after agents released word of the Jan. 4 robbery of a Jared Vault in Mebane, N.C., agents said in a statement Saturday.

Abigail Lee Kemp identified 35-year-old Lewis “Lou” Jones III as her accomplice in the crime spree he was arrested and charged in the Northern District of Florida with conspiracy to interfere with commerce by threats or violence by robbery.

Abby Kemp and Lou Jones’ first robbery occurred on April 29 in Woodstock, Georgia at Jared’s Vault where they displayed a gun and ordered the store employee to lay down on the floor of a restroom where they zip tied their hands before they removed several valuable items from the display case and put them in a bag.

Similar cases occurred at a Zales Outlet in Dawsonville, Georgia on August 5, again at Reed’s Jewelry in Panama Beach, Florida on September 2, at a Tanger Outlet  at Five Oaks in Sevierville, Tennessee on October 16, also at Reed’s Jewelry store at the Shoppes nat River Crossing in Macon, Georgia on December 30, the last robbery reported on January 4, took place at a jewelry store in Mebane, North Carolina.

Abigail Abby Lee Kemp from Cobb County, Georgia is one of the two daughters of Stephen W. Kemp, 67, and Connie Kemp (Thrasher), 60, who graduated from the University of Georgia and worked for Blanchard Training and Development, Incorporated, The  Ken Blanchard Companies, Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Inner Harbour Heath Company. Ms. Kemp’s older sister is Kaitlin Elaine Kemp, 28, a Valdosta State University graduate and an employee at the Llb Group.

Abby Kemp played softball and basketball in high school in Georgia before she became a quarterback for the lingerie football team the Atlanta Steam. She then worked as a waitress at Hooters and more recently was a waitress at Twin Peaks. She has been previously arrested at least three times, one of the arrest occurred in 2011 on a battery charge in Smyrna, Georgia.
