James Flannigan
James Flannigan is the man in the life of Canadian singer, songwriter and actress, Carly Rae Jepsen.
The couple has been dating for months now and the two seem to be going strong. They first caught media attention back in February when they were photographed holding hands during an outing.
32-year-old Carly was previously in a relationship with pop star Matthew Koma. They broke up in 2014, and she began dating photographer David Kalani Larkins.
The talented singer, went to the Canadian College of Performing Arts and then tried out for the 2007 season of Canadian Idol, placing third. She became notorious for her debut single “Call Me Maybe,” which reached #1 on the U.S. and Canadian Billboards while receiving over 400 million YouTube views. She is also known for portraying Frenchy in the 2016 Fox broadcast of Grease Live!
But Jepsen isn’t the only musician in this duo, it appears that James Flannigan is also in the business. Though he is not as well-known as his gal, 30-year-old Flannigan is actually a platinum selling songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist.
The British born, is a member of the pop punk band Stiff Dylans and has gone on to write and produce with artists including Kodaline, Andrew McMahon, Alex Vargas among others.
His music has been featured in TV shows and films such as The Fault in Our Stars, Kick-Ass 2 and Grey’s Anatomy.
Flannigan’s parents worked in hospitals their whole lives, and raised money for charities. Particularly cancer charities, whenever possible. He grew up with a sister, Liz –however according to a fundraising in her memory, it indicates that she died earlier this year.
James set up the fundraising page because it was his sister’s wish to ‘start a fundraiser for prostate cancer.’ –This believed to be because their father has advanced prostate cancer.
