Late actress and director Caroline McWilliams was married to actor Michael Keaton for eight-years.
Caroline who died in 2010 at age 64, was best known to TV audiences for her work on the series “Benson” and “Soap.”
She died Feb. 11 at her home in Los Angeles from complications of multiple myeloma.
Caroline Margaret McWilliams was born April 4, 1945, The Seattle native grew up in Barrington, R.I. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
She moved To NY in the early 70’s and started to build her stage career. One of her first breaks on television was a longtime CBS soap opera called “Guiding Light.”
While married to Keaton from 1982 to 1990, Caroline who was 6-years his senior gave birth to the couple’s only child, son Sean Douglas who was born in 1983.
Caroline’s credits included “Boccaccio,” “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “The Rothschilds.”
While her credits as a director included the plays “Divorcons (Let’s Get a Divorce),” “You Haven’t Changed a Bit and Other Lies” and “The Smoke and Ice Follies.”
