David Domenici
David Domenici is the husband of Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff, Cheryl Mills. It seems his wife will be able to sleep better at night after she cut a deal with the FBI.
Recent reports say David’s wife was granted immunity by the FBI in the matter regarding Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state.
Mills immunity was granted in exchange for her cooperation in the now-closed FBI investigation. Sources say Mills gave federal investigators access to her laptop on the condition that what they found couldn’t be used against her.
Mills served as Clinton’s chief of staff and counselor. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
Cheryl Mills is also the founder and chief executive officer of the BlackIvy Group. Prior to joining the State Department, she served as senior vice president for administration and operations as well as general counsel at New York University.
Cheryl came to New York to join Oxygen Media, where she served as senior vice president for corporate policy and public programming. She previously worked in Washington, D.C., where she served as deputy counsel to the President at the White House.
Cheryl’s legal experience also includes serving as associate counsel to the President, as deputy general counsel of the Clinton/Gore Transition Planning Foundation, and as an associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Hogan and Hartson. Cheryl currently serves on the boards of BlackRock, Inc. (corporate), the Clinton Foundation, and the See Forever Foundation (not-for-profit).
Mills, who was among Clinton’s closest confidants, voluntarily appeared last year for a lengthy interview as part of the House GOP’s investigation into the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, that left three Americans dead. She testified for nine hours in September 2015 before the House Benghazi Committee, and was interviewed by the FBI in May.
51-year-old David Domenici is the nation’s de facto headmaster of the school of hard knocks. He has managed to build a model school for young inmates. After setting up the charter school in D.C. and spending 15 years in the trenches.
The Stanford law grad is the son of a six-term Republican senator. In 1997, he founded the See Forever Foundation and launched the Maya Angelou Charter School–arguably the first charter school to recruit kids from jails, drop-out programs, foster care, and other institutions and venues at the bottom of the social ladder.
The Maya Angelou Academy’s success has been widely recognized.
David is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Stanford Law School. He is the co-author, along with James Forman, Jr., of two articles about school reform. The first, “What It Takes to Transform a School Inside a Juvenile Facility: The Story of the Maya Angelou Academy.” The second, “A Circle of Trust,” chronicles the first year of the Maya Angelou Public Charter School.
David resides in Washington, DC, with his wife and their two children.
