Cheryl Strauss Einhorn is the lovely wife of Hedge Fund manager, David Einhorn. The pair has been happily married since 1993, though reports say that’s about to change.
Cheryl’s hubby was born David M. Einhorn on November 20, 1968. The New Yorker is the the founder and president of Greenlight Capital. Einhorn had achieved annual returns of 29% since starting Greenlight in May of 1996.
He graduated summa cum laude from Cornell, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. To this day, David is one of the wealthiest hedge fund managers in the country.
Despite having millions in the pocket, it appears David Einhorn’s private life is a bit more complicated. He and his wife Cheryl are heading towards a divorce after 24-years of marriage. Let’s meet the soon-to-be ex-wife.
Cheryl Beth Strauss was born to Dr. H. William Strauss and Dr. Judith Strauss of Princeton. She grew up in New Jersey. According to her NY Times wedding announcement, her father, was a pioneer in nuclear medicine. He served as vice president of diagnostic drug discovery at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in Lawrenceville, N.J., and a professor of radiology at the Harvard Medical School in Boston. Her mother, a pediatrician, owned Strauss Healthcare Consulting in Princeton, a consulting concern in the field of health-care management.
Cheryl and her husband tied the knot in 1993. Together they are the proud parents of three children. Daughters Rachel and Naomi and son, Mitch.
At the time of their nuptials, David wasn’t a wealthy man. His fortune, is now estimated to be at $1.55 billion.
But Cheryl has certainly earned her share. She is a an award-winning media consultant and journalist.
Cheryl Strauss Einhorn also worked as a college professor. She taught at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Columbia Business School.
Accoridng to her LinkedIn, Cheryl attended Cornell University –where she graduated magna cum laude. She also holds a master in Journalism from Columbia University.
Cheryl is the creator of the AREA Method, a research and decision making system for individuals and companies to solve complex problems. She authored a book titled, Problem Solved.
Her work has earned her several journalism awards for her investigative stories about international political, business and economic topics.
Cheryl Strauss Einhorn is also the one who came up with the name Greenlight” when her hubby launched his fund in 1996.
Over two decades of marriage and three children later, she and Davif Einhorn are well known in society for being big on charity. Their philanthropic work also includes establishing the Einhorn Family Charitable Trust.
