Christopher Steele has been revealed as the man who created a dossier of unverified allegations about President-elect Donald Trump’s activities and connections in Russia, according to WSJ.

The identity of Christopher Steele had remained a mystery after we learned John McCain handed over to the FBI, the 35-page “dossier” of compromising, revelations about Trump.

Steele happens to be an ex-British intelligence service member and his dossier has been widely discredited.

1. Steele is a former MI-6 officer

52-year-old Christopher Steele had a good reputation in the intelligence world and was stationed in Russia for years. He is currently base in Surrey.

2. He is an expert in his field

Mr Steele is believed to an expert in intelligence analysis and counterterrorism as well as business strategy and business strategy and policy analysis.

3. He currently works for a private security-and-investigations firm founded in 2009

According to his LinkedIn, Christopher Steele serves as director, along with Christopher Burrows –of London-based Orbis Business Intelligence.

4. He did undercover work in Brussels and New Delhi in the 2000s.

Steele was a ‘counselor in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with foreign postings in Brussels and New Delhi’ for his espionage activities.

5. Christopher Steele was posted to the U.K.’s Moscow embassy in 1990

According to a diplomatic service list, the ex-spy was posted to the U.K.’s Moscow embassy in 1990 with the title of ‘Second Secretary’, serving under ambassador Sir Rodric Braithwaite.

6. He was allegedly hired by enemies of Donald Trump

Some theories suggest Steele was hired by enemies of Donald Trump and was asked to do a ‘general’ trawl on the billionaire’s links to Russia.

7. The ‘dossier’  includes details on Trump’s sex life

The file made by Steele alleges the Kremlin had a secret film of Trump staying in the suite where President Obama stayed in Moscow, watching prostitutes committing degrading sex acts.

8. His report is said to be based on fake information

Critics have also questioned the credibility of the 35-page private intelligence report because it contains a number of spelling mistakes.

9. Steele was also responsible for distributing the document

In addition to creating the dossier, sources told the Journal that Steele also funneled the document to officials in the U.S. and Europe.

10. He fears for his life

According to sources Steele is hiding, in fear of a backlash from the Kremlin.
