56-year-old Ear nose and throat specialist Gwen Korovin has been identified as the doctor who was performing a biopsy on comedian icon Joan Rivers and which resulted on her death. Media reports Korovin seems to be hiding ever since and which is totally unlike her.
Sources told Radaronline and TMZ, Korovin never shied away from the limelight when it came to flaunting her celebrity client list and doing high-profile interviews but apparently she as gone deep underground in an attempt to avoid public outcry.
Dr. Gwen Korovin celebrity clients include John Mayer, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and more but investigation insiders have accused her of taking a selfie mid-surgery!
Insiders say Melissa is telling close friends she will be filing medical board complaints against Korovin and other doctors involved in the endoscopy and unauthorized biopsy on her mother — and she wants their licenses to practice revoked!
Under the care of Dr. Cohen, who performed the endoscopy on Rivers, and her E.N.T. Specialist Korovin, who performed an unauthorized biopsy on the Fashion Police star, Rivers stopped breathing and later died.
To make matters worse for Korovin, she wants even supposed to be treating the comedienne.
According to her FB page, she provides treatment for all ENT problems and has special expertise in voice and throat problems. She received her medical degree from State University of New York Upstate Medical University and has been in practice for 30 years.
Several professional profiles say Gwen S. Korovin, MD, is an otolaryngologist who maintains a busy private practice in New York City, where she treats some of the world’s most well-known performers. She is also a clinical assistant professor of otolaryngology at New York University School of Medicine, and is an attending physician at Lenox Hill Hospital where she did her intership and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital—all located in New York City. She serves on the board of directors and the advisory board of the Voice Foundation and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Voice.
Other profiles list her as one of 79 doctors at Lenox Hill Hospital and one of 20 at Manhattan EET Hospital who specialize in Otolaryngology.
Dr .Korovin has appeared on television as an expert on vocal health and is the author of numerous articles and research papers on the voice and voice medicine. She frequently presents and speaks at conferences and symposia worldwide.
