Meet 19-year-old Jess Elizabeth Smith from Edenbridge, Kent. The first-year dance education student might look familiar to some, the answer: She was the “sun baby” in the hit TV show Teletubbies!
Reports say Jess and her family have kept the secret all these years but she recently outed herself as part of a game among her college mates. Jess had to reveal something about herself no one else would guess, she thought it was the best time to come out and tell the truth.
For years we watched as Jess (The Sun) giggled and laughed, getting excited during any Magical Event or watching the Teletubbies do funny and silly things. She was the supreme deity of Teletubbyland.
At only nine-months old, Jess was chosen to be in the role of smiley baby and was required to make “baby noises.”
Along with Tinky Winky, Laa Laa, Dipsy and Po, Jess was one of the most familiar faces on British television in the 1990s.
According to her Facebook, Jess who is now attending Canterbury Christ Church University, currently lives in Chatham, Medway.
And as no one could predict the success of the show, Jess was paid just £250 for filming and given a box of toys to take home.
