Johnthony Walker
Johnthony Walker is a school bus driver who is being held on a $20,000 bail after killing at least six children on a horrible crash in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Walker was arrested and charged with five counts of vehicular manslaughter, reckless enlargement and reckless driving.
The 24-year-old worked as a Woodmore Elementary School driver. According to authorities, high speed likely played a role in the crash.
Johnthony Walker was behind the wheel when the school bus carrying 35 students on their way home, overturned and crashed into a tree less than a mile from the school.
As a result at least six elementary school children perished and 23 other students from kindergarten through fifth grade, were hospitalized after the crash, reports the Chattanooga Free Press.
It is not clear how Johnthony Walker lost control of the bus and took a mail box, took out a utility poll and then wrapped the bus around a tree at someone’s front yard.
The Chattanooga Fire Department rescued all surviving children in bus after two hours of effort, after the bus was split in half. The terrifying crash took place in the Brainerd area on Talley Road about 3:20 p.m. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Authorities said Walker was on his regular route.
Walker was arrested on Monday. Accoridng to news outlets Walker was cooperative with authorities.

Johnthony Walker was born July 28, 1992. He attended Brainerd High School, graduating in 2001. Not many details have been made available about him.
