Jung-a Kim
Jung-a Kim is the wife of professor, Robert Kelly –who happens to be an expert in East Asian affairs.
She, her husband and their two children became a viral sensation after they all crashed Kelly’s interview last week.
Jung-a Kim and her husband share a home in Busan, where Kelly is an associate professor of political science at Pusan National University in South Korea.
The husband and father of two was in the middle of an interview with the BBC when his two young children made an entrance to the room where he was in.
Behind the little ones, Jung-a Kim failed to stop them on time as they crashed their dad while he was on air discussing the impeachment of South Korea’s president.
The segment became a funny episode and since then has gone viral.
During the live video Robert is seen pushing his daughter in attempt to try and make her go away but right then, his toddler son comes in. Lastly Jung-a Kim is seen flying inside the room to pull the two children out. She then comes back on scene once again just to close the door.
Jung-a Kim and her husband are the proud parents of 4-year-old daughter Marion and 8-month-old son, James.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal about the video, Kelly said when doing interviews from home he normally locks his office door only this time, he forgot.
Jung-a Kim was actually watching her husband’s interview on TV when she realized the children had joined their father. She said both children usually come back to her after they find the locked door only this time, they didn’t. She felt ‘chaos.’
Kelly sat next to his wife and kids to address the overwhelming response from people saying:
“I made this minor mistake that turned my family into YouTube stars,” “It’s pretty ridiculous.”
He also revealed he and Kim initial thought, was, the incident would mark the end of his TV appearances. However, the BBC quickly called the family and asked to put the clip online.
According to his blog, Kelly says his wife and mother of his two children is a Yoga teacher.
Robert Kelly is originally from Ohio. He is trained in German, French, Russian, Latin, Korean, classical Greek. He also lived in Europe for four years and has been living in Korea since 2008.
