Meet Lorrie Sullenberger

TV personality Lorrie Sullenberger is the wife of hero pilot, Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger, III. Her husband better known as Sully Sullenberger is the man who in 2009, executed the historic water landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River off Manhattan, New York City.

Sully Sullenberger retired almost a year later of the successful maneuver that saved all of the 155 passengers and crew aboard the aircraft. He went on to become and aviation safety consultant for CBS and a best seller author.

Following his 2010 retirement after 30 years as a commercial pilot, Sullenberg became an international speaker on airline safety and has helped develop new protocols for airline safety.

This year marks the 6th anniversary of the Houston miracle where Sully became a national hero. And what’s the best way to know more about him? Well, how about watching the upcoming movie where Tom Hanks will play Sully Sullenberger!

Mrs. Sullenberger is a known fitness expert and television personality. She and her husband have been married since 1989, more accurate since June 17, 1989. The couple who resides in California have two adopted children, daughters: Kate and Kelly.

Lorrie Sullenberger couldn’t’ conceive and revealed to Shape magazine she used to punish her body at the gym for it.

Lorrie Sullenberger is the founder of Fit and Fabulous…Outdoors! and regularly appears on local television programs to address women’s health and how to make yourself ready for whatever life throws your way. She is a frequent contributor to Woman’s Day magazine, writes a monthly fitness and exercise column for Alive East Bay magazine and serves on the Advisory Board of Shape magazine, where she is also a featured writer and one of the magazine’s self-esteem role models for women.  Sullenberger has also been featured on numerous media programs, including 60 Minutes, People magazine, It’s Your Health radio, Better TV, The CBS Early Show and ABC San Francisco’s View from the Bay.

The mom of two also serves as a regional ambassador for the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, and is a national spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
