Jimmy Lee Duggar
Jimmy Lee Duggar is the late husband of Mary Duggar -who died suddenly over the weekend. She was 78-years-old.
Jimmy’s wife aka Grandma Duggar; was well known for appearing on the TLC shows, 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On, with her family for over 15-years.
In fact, the Duggars are known all over, they’ve been featured on five Discovery Health & TLC documentaries, “14 Children and Pregnant Again!”, “16 Children and Moving In!”, “Raising 16 Children!”, “On The Road With 16 Children!” & “Duggar’s Big Family Album”.
Jimmy Lee and Mary Duggar were married from 1960 until his death in 2009. Together the couple welcomed two children daughter Deanna and son Jim Bob Duggar -who is the father of 19 kids with wife Michelle Ruark. In addition to their two children they are survived by 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Mary was also a successful real estate broker. She owned Good Neighbor Realty and was noted in Northwest Arkansas for being the broker who put together the property sale for the John Q. Hammons Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Springdale.
She and her husband were married for nearly 50-years. Unlike Mary Duggar, Jimmy Lee didn’t have much time on the reality shows.
Jimmy Lee Duggar also known as “J.L.” Duggar, was born on Feb. 3, 1936, in Fayetteville to James A. and Velma Lee Boggs Duggar. According to his obituary, he grew up attending Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville and was a member First Baptist Church in Springdale for many years.
After graduating from Fayetteville High School in 1955, he attended the University of Arkansas, and served in the Army ROTC. In 1962, he became a third generation real estate agent in Duggar Realty that his grandfather J.T. Duggar established in 1933.
Jimmy Lee Duggar was 73 when he died in February of 2009.
