Rob Tibbetts & Laura Calderwood are the devastated parents of missing Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts.
Rob Tibbetts & Laura Calderwood now separated, welcomed daughter Mollie Cecilia Tibbetts 20-years-ago and now mourn the death of their pretty daughter who had a promising future as a sociology major at the University of Iowa.
Updates on the case say her body has been found, though no further details have been released. CBS and Fox News both confirmed it was her body.
Their daughter went missing on July 18th leaving no trace, at the time it was reported she went for a run –as it was part of routine –and never came back. The disappearance sparked extensive searches for Mollie who was staying at the home of her boyfriend’s brother when she went missing. A text message to her boyfriend, Dalton Jack ‘appears to have been the last interaction she had with someone.
Her parents offered a $172,000 reward for information that will lead authorities to her.
Robet Tibbetts, a California resident was one of the first to speak out to media about the disappearance telling reporters “This is not about our emotions. We can have them later. We are going to fight and we are going to fight for Mollie.”
Laura Calderwood, also spoke to media following her daughter’s disappearing saying “It’s exhausting, I don’t know where she is, I don’t know if she’s safe.”
Following the couple’s divorce in 2007, Laura Calderwood moved her children to Iowa following the collapse of the housing market. She is a former real estate agent. And her ex-husband Rob stayed back in Oakland.
During their marriage, Rob Tibbetts & Laura Calderwood volunteered and were active at Corpus Christi Parish.
Robert Tibbetts last saw his daughter at his wedding –which took place on June 3, 2018 in California. Rob Tibbetts is a member of the board of directors for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, which describes him as having worked as Vice President/ Marketing Principal at a company called HOK.
On social media, Mollie described herself as a Day Camp Intern at Grinnell Regional Medical Center who studied Psychology at University of Iowa, went to Brooklyn School, and lived in Brooklyn, Iowa. She is from Oakland, California.
In addition to his parents, Mollie is also survived by a brothers, Jake and Scott.
