Miriam González Durántez is the beautiful Spanish wife of Nick Clegg. Her husband is a former Deputy Prime Minister and according to recent reports, Sir Nicholas Clegg will head Facebook’s global affairs team.

50-year-old Miriam González Durántez was born in Olmedo, Valladolid, Spain on May 31, 1968. Her parents Mercedes Durantez and Jose Antonio Gonzalez Caviedes, were professors.

In addition to teaching, Miriam’s dad was Olmedo’s mayor and later served People’s Party senator for Valladolid. He was 58, when he suffered a fatal heart attack while driving on December 4, 1996, in Montuenga, Spain.

Lady Clegg, studied law at the University of Valladolid and subsequently attended the College of Europe in Belgium on a postgraduate scholarship. Miriam, the chair of British charity Inspiring-Girls and president of Canning House in London; she previously worked at DLA Piper and served as an advisor on trade law and economic relations for the British Government as well as the European Union and serves on the Board of Directors of Acciona, S.A.

She co-authored the book Regulatory Aspects of the WTO Telecoms Agreements, before releasing her cookbook Made In Spain:  Recipes & Stories From My Country and Beyond.

Mr. & Mrs. Clegg met while in college in Brussels, Belgium; they dated for several years before they finally exchanged vows in September 2000. Nowadays they are the proud parents of three sons; Miguel, Antonio and Alberto.
