Pam Tork
Pam Tork is the devastated wife of musician, Peter Tork –who passed away today aged 77. He had been diagnosed with tongue cancer.
Pam’s husband was best known as a member of the legendary 60’s group, The Monkees –a band made for TV. During his lifetime, he was a musician, actor, teacher, mentor, father and husband.
Born as Peter Halsten Thorkelson on February 13, 1942; the Washington native was hired to be an actor on the TV show, The Monkees –the band responsible for singles including “Last Train to Clarksville” and “I’m a Believer.”
Though he played a TV part, Peter was a real life songwriter and guitarist/bassist. He started his study of classical piano at age 9 & cut his musical teeth on the Masters – Bach, Beethoven, etc. Peter also studied music while attending Carleton. He went on to teach himself to play the 5-string banjo, guitar, bass, recorder, harpsichord, organ, harmonica & French Horn.
In addition to music, Peter appeared in TV and in movies. Later in life, he performed around the country and overseas as a solo performer, with his fellow Monkees-mates in reunion shows, and especially with his band, Shoe Suede Blues.
During his lifetime, he became a married man four times. He is survived by fourth wife, Pamela Grapes.
Peter and Pam Tork became husband and wife in 2013. The couple had been supporters of Davy’s Angels since it started in 2013. In 2016, they were named honorary sponsors. They were married for about six years before his passing.
He was first married to Jody Babb in June 1960 and were divorced just three short months later, in September of the same year.
He and Raine Stewart began dating in 1968, she became his second wife four years later in 1972 and were divorced in 1974.
Reine was born sometime in 1948 and grew up on the East Coast, yet moved to California with her mom when her parents got divorced. Reine had a twin sister Tracy. Reine and her sister are described as groupies.
During their time together, Raine and Peter became the parents of a daughter, Hallie Elizabeth, born January 25, 1970.
He then tied the knot to wife number three, Barbara Iannoli in 1975 –with whom he welcomed a son, Ivan Joseph, born December 22, 1975. He and Barbara remained together for about 12-years however they also ended in divorce.
Peter also fathered a third child, another daughter Erica –who was born on June 15, 1997 –as a result from a relationship with Tammy Sesta.
