Gabriela Lire
Gabriela Lire is the wife of high-profile white nationalist and political candidate, Paul Nehlen -who ran for U.S. Representative from Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district.
Gabriela’s husband is a white supremacist who unsuccessfully challenged the then House Speaker Paul Ryan in a 2016 Wisconsin Republican primary and again in 2018 against Representative Bryan Steil before the party banned him for his extreme views.
The 50-year-old is banned from Twitter for racism, Facebook for spreading hate, and Gab, a network popular with the far-right, for doxing another user.
He is the same guy who said ‘Jews control the media’ and that compared the mixed-race actress Meghan Markle to a primitive human. Funny thing is, Paul’s wife Gabriela isn’t exactly white.
Nehlen also wrote on Twitter before his permanent ban: “Poop, incest, and pedophilia. Why are those common themes repeated so often with Jews?”
His wife of four years, Gabriela Lire or Lira who now goes by Gabriele Nehlen following their 2015 nuptials -hasn’t escaped controversy either. Last year it was revealed that according to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing, Nehlen’s campaign paid his wife Gabriela Lira $13,000 in the third quarter of last year, and reimbursed her additionally for expenses totaling $684.78. The $13,000 was split into eight transactions marked “staff payroll.” The payments began in July with the smallest amount being $1,000 and the largest amount being $3,000.
In response to an inquiry by Media Trackers, Nehlen defended the payments to his wife as a “meager stipend.”
Paul has spoken proudly about his wife saying “God blessed me with a wife who is strong in her faith, supportive of my efforts to Make America First Again, so I’m thankful for the Republicans who came before me passing laws to making it possible to make a meager stipend possible”
Gabriela Nehlen and Paul were married in 2015, it is unclear how the two met or when they began dating. Gabriela is the mother of two children from a previous relationship.
