We know Regina Lasko as the wife of iconic TV host and funny man David Letterman. But way before she became Ms. Letterman officially she was his long-time girlfriend and mother of the couple’s only child. Regina was a “Late Show” staff member.
Lasko and Letterman began dating in 1986 but it wants until 2009, more than two decades later until they tied the knot. At the time, the then 61-year-old Late Show host spilled the beans at the taping of his CBS program. He famously joked about the blissful day when he got stuck in the mud on their way to get married. Regina and “the big man Dave” became the proud parents in 2003 of son, Harry Joseph Letterman.
Her 66-year-old husband was previously married to Michelle Cook but the former couple ended in divorce in 1977.
David and Regina were married at 3:00 pm on March 19, 2009 at the Teton County Courthouse in Choteau, Montana. Their son Harry –at the time five and named after Letterman’s father –was with them during the wedding ceremony.
What many thought was inevitable has happened, prepared the farewell notes and handkerchiefs (you never know) it was reported her husband will be retiring and putting an end to Late Night.
During a taping for his Late Show program Thursday, host David Letterman announced that he will be retiring in 2015, so ending more than three decades in late night entertainment and perhaps the most influential run in talk shows and comedy.
But apparently his decision has everything to do with wife Regina, sources say he is retiring because of a promise her made to her in 2009.
The light brown short haired keeps a low profile, her style is mostly comfy but is always seen stylish in events next to her hubby.
Insiders say the star had intended to work well into his 70s but was forced to put his family first, when, in 2009, he cheated on his wife, Regina Lasko, and admitted to having sexual relations with female members of his staff!
Sure you remember the scandal when Regina’s husband cheated with Stephanie Birkitt. The scandal involving David Letterman and female staff members hurt his –formerly a production manager and colleague in show business wife –Regina, even though the affairs took place before David and Regina were married.
Regina’s racing fan hubby took it hard and was terribly sorry, he publicly talked about it
Because you think an explosion has taken place and you’re looking at the shards and you say, ‘Well, can we put this back together?’ ” Letterman said. “And by God, maybe you can put it back together. And maybe it won’t be the same, but maybe it will be different, and maybe it can even be better in a different way.”
