Ryan Garcia, the boxing rising star who’s got a lethal left hook to say the least, wants to take Selena Gomez on a date.
That’s what the 20-year-old Victorville’s native recently told gossip site TMZ. Born August 8, 1998; he was a National Junior Olympics Silver Medalist in 2014.
Amateur boxing commitments forced Garcia to leave Adelanto High School for home schooling, he got his diploma last year. During his amateur days he compiled an incredible 215-15 record.
Garcia who turned pro at the tender age of 17, currently has an impressive record, a 17-0 record –that means he’s never lost, and that 14 of his victories have been via KO.
Garcia who fights in the Super featherweight division, is currently under contract with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions. In last fight, Garcia knocked out the frustrating Braulio Rodriguez in the fifth round on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez-Rocky Fielding –last December.
He was making his New York debut in his first fight since switching trainers –his new coach is Eddy Reynoso –known as the coach that guides Canelo Alvarez’s career.
Garcia who is also known as The Flash and Kingry–has certainly won the heart of many, developing a huge following on social media with over a million followers. But what the young boxer really wants is the attention of 26-year-old Selena Gomez. He told TMZ he wants his chance now that she is single and also said he would keep her safe.
Selena who has experienced a tumultuous love life hasn’t responded to his invite to go on a date. Even if she is single, do you think Ryan has a chance?
