Samantha Lea Bloom born on February 11, 1968; she and her son moved from Florence, Kentucky to Toledo due to her job not long ago. Mrs. Bloom said she knew her son was going to rally, but she stayed out of her son’s political views.
As a matter of fact, at first, she believed Fields was going to a Trump rally, not a white supremacist, she had no idea of her son’s involvement with the party whatsoever.
“I just knew he was going to a rally. I mean, I try to stay out of his political views. You know, we don’t, you know, I don’t really get too involved, I moved him out to his own apartment, so we — I’m watching his cat.”
Samantha Bloom was informed by a reporter that the rally was indeed organized by white nationalists. “I thought it had something to do with Trump. Trump’s not a white supremacist,” she said.
“He had an African-American friend so …,” she said before her voice trailed off.
“I told him to be careful. [And] if they’re going to rally to make sure he’s doing it peacefully.”
Mrs. Bloom raised her son alone after her husband died in a car crash by a drunk driver not long after her son’s birth, she is a paraplegic.
