Meet beautiful Shara Cannings knight, her name might not be that familiar to you but she is married to British TV host, writer, adventurer, motivational speaker, NBC’s Get Out Alive and the youngest ever UK’s Chief Scout; Edward Michael “Bear” Grylls.
Shara’s man, 39-year-old Bear is the real deal when it comes to extreme adventures, I mean it doesn’t matter how challenging it may seem he lives to get down and dirty not minding how rough it may get!
You would think his wife would be an extreme junkie adventurous soul as well but actually Shara who was born in 1974, is a writer. She published a book titled “Marriage Matters”, which is a compilation of advice from Shara and Bear about the keys to a successful and happy marriage. The family attributes their strong family values in part to a very strong Christian faith which Bear characterizes as the “backbone” of his life.
So as we can see she is the soft side that brings balance to his life. The couple tied the knot in 2000 and have three children together. Shara is the mother of three sons, Jesse born in June 2003, Marmaduke born April 2006 and Huckleberry Edward Jocelyne born January 15, 2009.
Wonder how she deals with a husband who takes so many risks in life?
According to his website:
“Does your wife minding you being away so much?
Yes, we both hate being apart. It is the hardest part of my job, leaving her and our boys. But it makes the times at home all the more special. I am so blessed with them. They are the center of my universe and the motivation for always coming back in one piece.”
Certainly being married to someone who after breaking his back in three places in a parachuting accident, he fought his way to recovery, and two years later entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest; is not easy but if you are ever out in the wild this is the guy you want to do it with!
Shara being the supportive and loving wife that she is helps Bear in charity work. Her husband realized by combining his adventures with media work, that he could also support and raise money for those causes closest to his heart. These have included charities that encourage young people to overcome some of life’s biggest challenges.
The couple are the owners of their own island, their home on the North Wales coast the St Tudwal West, off Abersoch, Gwynedd where they spend the holydays and where Shara’s hubby latest toy appears to be a slide attached to the island. Cool! but not so much when Bear might be facing a planning investigation for not notifying the council before the installation.
