Younes Abouyaaqoub
Younes Abouyaaqoub, identified as the main suspect of the vicious attack in Barcelona’s Ramblas last week –has been shot to death.
Authorities are certain that Abouyaaqoub was behind the wheel of the van used to mow down 13 people in central Las Ramblas avenue.
Younes was caught by CCTV footage following the attack. He appears to be walking through a market district shortly after killing 13 and injuring 100 others. He made his escape on foot to the outskirts of the city where he hijacked a car.

He is said to have left the van after the airbag was triggered
The airbag’s detonation reportedly immobilised the Renault Kangoo’s electrical system, forcing him to end his massacre and flee.
He fled the scene on foot
He then was seen walking calmly while fleeing the scene on foot. He allegedly walked around Barcelona for little over an hour. Early CCTV images emerged appearing to show Abouyaaqoub making his escape on foot through Barcelona’s La Boqueria market following Thursday afternoon’s attack.
He stole a car and killed its owner
He hijacked a Ford Focus and stabbed its owner, Pau Perez. He put the body inside and took off.
An international operation was launched
Authorities across Europe launched a massive manhunt from north of Catalonia and in particular along the French border after authorities thought he could have fled to France.
He had an apartment in Ripol
Abouyaaqoub is a 22-year-old Moroccan and resident of the northern town of Ripol. He was a member of the terror cell which carried out twin attacks in Barcelona and the seaside town of Cambrils earlier this month.
The van involved in the attack was reportedly rented by Driss Oukabir
Mohamed Hychami and Moussa Oukabir along with Said Aallaa and Younes make for the five terrorist involved. Younes was the last living member.

According to reports, Younes Abouyaaqoub was shot and killed by Spanish police, while wearing a suicide belt in the town of Subirats in the west of Catalonia.
He was spotted by a woman
Apparently Younes was spotted by a woman who called the cops as he ran towards a vineyard. The device Younes Abouyaaqoub was wearing, was fake the Sun reports.
