His old fried Frank DeBlasio also said Tommy has no time for dating, although he dated beautiful girls in the past.

“[His father told me] he’s never had a beer in his life,” he said.

That’s also left him little time for dating. Though DeBlasio said DeVito once had a “beautiful girlfriend, he’s [now] single.”

In the 2023 NFL season, Tommy DeVito signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on April 29, shortly after the draft.

He signed his two-year, $1,665,000 contract with the New York Giants, including an average annual salary of $832,500 on May 5, 2023.

He was initially waived on August 29 but re-signed to the practice squad. DeVito made his NFL debut in Week 8 against the New York Jets, stepping in after Tyrod Taylor was injured. He completed two of seven passes and scored a touchdown on a six-yard run.

DeVito was promoted to the active roster on October 31. In Week 9, he relieved injured starter Daniel Jones against the Las Vegas Raiders, throwing for 175 yards and his first NFL touchdown, but also had two interceptions. By Week 10, he was named the starting quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys, where he threw for 86 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a loss.

In Week 11, DeVito led the Giants to a victory over the Washington Commanders, completing 18 of 26 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns despite being sacked nine times—making him the first winning quarterback to be sacked that many times since 1992. He followed this performance with a win against the New England Patriots in Week 12, throwing for 191 yards and a touchdown.

After a bye week, DeVito led the Giants to their third consecutive victory against the Green Bay Packers, completing 17 of 21 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 71 yards. His performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. However, after a loss to the New Orleans Saints, he was benched in favor of Taylor during Week 16.

Throughout the season, DeVito gained popularity among fans for his journey from undrafted rookie to starting quarterback and for proudly embracing his Italian heritage, earning him the nickname “Tommy Cutlets.” He was recognized with the Bud Light Celebration of the Year Award at the NFL Honors.

As of November 18, 2024, following a poor start to the season by Daniel Jones and a record of 2-8 for the Giants, DeVito was named the starter again.
